Sinclair Library Video Reformatting Project

Since March 2009, Sinclair Library has been digitizing many of its older videos, focusing on those in the Hawaiian and Pacific collections. Digitized videos are now available online via links in the Voyager catalog. A UH username and password are necessary for accessing the videos. See the complete list of streaming videos.

Some highlights of the digitization project:

Keiki Hula: The library's videos of the 1984-1999 Queen Lili'uokalani Keiki Hula Competition are available online.

Many older videos from the Asia Society are available online, including P'ansori and Chamber Music From Korea, Chinese Shadow Plays, and Kathak North Indian Dance. See the complete list of digitized Asia Society videos

The 1984, 1985, 1988, and 1999 videos from the Prince Lot Hula Festival are available as streaming videos.

Some of Hugh Gibb's films about the Philippines, including The Maranao, The Years of Change, Fiestas of the Philippines, The Negritos, The Chinese Connection, The Ifugao, The Spanish Domain, and The Tabon Caves, are available online.

Video of the Na Hoku Hanohano Awards (Hawaii's equivalent of the Grammys) is available for 1983-2000.

The UH Magazine videos are an explosion of 80's goodness. The student-produced 30-minute programs were created in 1985, 1988, and 1989 and feature a variety of local news, student music, interviews, and even cooking shows. See the complete list of digitized UH Magazine videos.

Footage from the 1982-1989 Honolulu Marathon has also been digitized.
