Who may use the equipment

Center equipment may be used by UH Manoa and Community College faculty, staff, and students to play their own media. The Center, however, is not responsible for any resulting damage to the media.

What's Available?

Equipment available for use in the Center includes:

• Videocassette players (VHS, U-Matic, and BETAMAX)
• Digital video disc (DVD) players
• 16mm film projectors
• Laserdisc (videodisc) players
• Record (phonographs) players
• Audiocassette, compact disc (CD) players
• Units for viewing synchronized cassette and slide kits
• Filmstrip viewers with cassette players
• Multimedia computer stations
• High speed stereo audio tape duplicators
• Slide projector
• A television receiver is available for viewing Cable News Network (CNN)

Viewing stations must be checked out and can accommodate up to 6 persons. Note: viewing or listening station that is left unused for more than 10 minutes may be reassigned to another user.

Stations are available for viewing of closed captioned videos. Please contact AV Center staff for availability.

Equipment is not loaned from the Wong Audiovisual Center, but may be available from the University of Hawai'i's Center for Instructional Support in Kuykendall Hall, room 106 (956-8075).

Special Media Formats

Viewing Hi-8 and 8mm tapes may be possible Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Please contact AV Center staff for availability.

Viewing Room

Located on the Ground Floor of Sinclair Library, the Viewing Room is available for viewing projected media on a large screen. Please see the Viewing Room page for details.
