Most audiovisual media may be borrowed by University of Hawaii system with a UH ID for 4 days. See information on loans for Community users here.
University of Hawaii borrowers can use Sinclair Library’s audiovisual reference tools on site at Wong Audiovisual Center.
In an effort to provide maximum access to our collection to as many patrons as possible the Wong Audiovisual Center at Sinclair Library has placed limits on the number of MEDIA items (CD, DVD, Tape, Videotape, Kit, Film, etc.) that a patron may check out at one time. The limit applies to any combination of media types. For example, a limit of 10 items means that you may check out 4 CDs, 4 DVDs, and 2 videotapes, or any similar combination totaling ten items.
These limits vary depending on patron or borrower type. They are as follows:
Undergraduates (all campuses) --Limited to 10 media items;
Graduate students (all campuses) -- Limited to 20 media items;
Faculty -- Unlimited (there is no change in policy, this has been our past practice);
Community Users and Associate Users -- Limited to 1 item (in house use only). No change from current policy.
Holds and recalls may not be placed on audiovisual items in the Wong Audiovisual Center.
Materials may be renewed at a UH Library circulation counter, or on-line via Hawai'i Voyager. Click here for more information on the UHM library policies for renewing materials.
Media may be renewed from the date of renewal for 4 additional days unless the item is reserved for class or booked. Exceptions are reference titles, items that are reference in nature, and items that are restricted by copyright. Renewals will not be accepted via telephone, fax or e-mail.
Materials should be returned to the Sinclair Library circulation counters during the hours that the library is open. When Sinclair library is closed materials may be returned to the Sinclair Library media/book drops located next to the front doors of Sinclair Library.
To facilitate the prompt return of library materials, fines are assessed at the following rates:
Audiovisual and Reserve items must be returned to the library from which they were borrowed by the date and time indicated.
Also, fines for overdue items are assessed every day (hourly for Reserve Book Room items) including weekends and holidays.
